From the Library - April is Poetry Month:

The Cats, by Ann Iverson

To find such glory in a dehydrated pea
on the tile between the stove and fridge.

To toss the needs of others aside
when you simply aren't in the mood for affection.

To find yourselves so irresistible.

And always in a small spot of sun,
you sprawl and spread out the pleasure of yourselves

never fretting, never wanting to go back
to erase your few decisions.

To find yourself so remarkable
all the day long.

The Handball Tournament Continues! During lunch in the gym. Swing by the gym to check out the action, positive cheering only! Due to the handball tournament the gym will be closed this week for free play.

Day of Silence: On Friday, April 19th, 2024, people across the nation observed the Day of Silence, an annual day of action organized by GLSEN to spread awareness about the effects of the bullying and harassment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) students. In the United States, students take a day-long vow of silence to symbolize the silencing of LGBTQ students. Parker will be observing this day on Friday, April 26th this year.

Participation is optional. All community members are encouraged to wear a pin in support of this day of action. Silence Cards and pins will be available in the lobby before school on Friday, April 26th. Silence will be maintained from 8:30 AM-3:00 PM. Students may remove Silence Cards for mandatory academic work such as an OP, then put the Silence Card (necklace) back on.

Those who participate for the day are invited to join the Parker GSA for the Breaking of the Silence at 3:00 PM in the GYM (there will be an announcement).
