Senior Half Page Photos Info:

Baby photo needed! Also, if you do not want to use your photo taken by Hockmeyer this fall, you need to submit your senior portrait too! You do not need to use a professional photographer. Remember that the photo will be shown in portrait orientation as described below.

In order to print well, photos need to be at least 300 dots per inch (dpi) which is equivalent to a 1” x 1” photo of 300 x 300 pixels. You can find the photo dimensions by looking at the Details of the file Properties.

Baby/Toddler Photos:

Will be cropped to fit in a 2.5” x 2.5” circle. Scanned photos should be a minimum of 750 x 750 pixels so if scanning in a 4” x 6” photo it should be at least 750 x 1125 pixels. You should use a scanner setting of at least 300 dpi. The scanned file will likely be around 2 MB in size.

Senior Portraits:

Will be cropped to fit in a 2.5” x 3” rectangle. Photos should be a minimum of 750 x 900 pixels. If photos are provided in a different height to width ratio they will be cropped to fit the space. This file will likely be about 3 MB in size.

Senior Appreciation Pages Submission Guidlines
  • If creating the appreciation page yourself, you must use software that will export a .jpg at 300 dpi. Publisher does this, but Powerpoint and Word do not. Make sure to use the dimensions listed below:
PAGE SIZE SIZE PIXELS PRICE
TEXT ONLY 3.65" x 2:35" 1095 x 705 pixels $10
¼ PAGE 3.65" x 4.9" 1095 x 1470 pixels $50
½ PAGE 7.5" x 4.9" 2250 x 1470 pixels $80
FULL PAGE 7.5" x 10" 2250 x 1470 pixels $130

*Design Fee: There is a $25 fee if you are having the page designed for you
*Late Fee: If you submit materials or order after January 31st, you will be charged a $20 late fee.

  • Keep your design under 10 photos.
  • All digital images used should be at least 300 dpi.  If you scan photos, they need to be scanned at minimum 300 dpi resolution.  Many pictures you view on your computer–like photos on Facebook–do NOT meet this requirement as only 96 dpi is required to look good on a monitor but 300 dpi is needed for printing.  In other words, a 600 x 900 pixel photo cannot be printed larger than 2” x 3” while retaining image quality. A 4” x 6” photo scanned at 300 dpi will be at least 1,000 KB in file size and likely larger.  (Hint: when using a PC, if you hover your mouse over the image file name, a box will appear showing the file properties where Dimensions: is the width by height in pixels and Size: is the file size in kilobytes or megabytes.)  Color/contrast adjust each photo individually.
