April 9 - 15th is National Library Week. This yearly celebration highlights the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. This year's theme is Libraries Transform. How do libraries transform? No longer are libraries simply depositories of information. They are now active spaces for communities. Libraries transform people and communities.

Read a poem and celebrate Poetry Month through April. The Parker library has a wide range of poetry collections and is excited to display some of these. They range from Shel Silverstein to Walt Whitman from Rumi to Tupac Shakur. The Academy of American Poets works to promote poetry and this month-long celebration is to:
