Hello Parker family!
This year the Community Congress has been busy working on numerous topics to improve the school atmosphere and environment. We began the year looking at Student-Teacher Activity Fund grant proposals and allotted money to fund charging stations, new lobby furniture, a new bag for the Parker sports tent, and a leopard gecko!
More recently, we revised the tardiness policy to align closer with Parker’s values. Instead of punishing repeated lateness with detentions (an obsolete rule), tardiness will be enforced with restorative justice by the Justice Committee. The revision states that after 10 tardies in one semester, you will have a conversation with your advisor regarding your attendance habits. If being late continues to be a chronic problem, your advisor will contact the JC to set up a discussion.
Currently, the CC is discussing improvements to sustainability at Parker. If there are topics that you would like to see the CC address, please tell your divisional representatives or the Moderators. Stay tuned for more updates!
