About "13 Reasons Why: Season 2"

The following message from Sheila Kelly
and attached links contain information about the series
13 Reasons Why: Season 2,
and specific information/spoilers about the show
are revealed below.

The controversial show, 13 Reasons Why: Season 2, is now available on Netflix. While there are many relevant themes to discuss with students, such as bullying, sexual assault, suicide, drug abuse and violence, I highly recommend that parents consider watching/vetting the series first (particularly parents of younger students) or that parents  watch with their students so that they can discuss themes as they come up. Some parents will decide that this material is appropriate for their students to see while others may feel that this series is not appropriate for their child.

Parents should be aware that there are some extremely graphic scenes in the second season of the show (including a brutal sexual assault of a male student in a school bathroom), and other scenes and themes that are very mature in nature and not appropriate for all viewers.

The following guide is one source of information; I encourage all parents to be fully informed about this series because it is very popular among students in middle and high schools everywhere.
