Happy Friday from the Health Office!
It’s not too late to get your flu vaccine!
U.S. State and local influenza surveillance indicates that rates of flu-like illness rose again over the past seven days – an indication that flu season is not over yet and that there is still plenty of reason to get a flu shot if you haven’t done so yet. If you can’t get the flu vaccine from your provider, go to https://vaccinefinder.org to find a local pharmacy or municipal health department that may still have flu vaccine available.
HealthMap Vaccine Finder vaccinefinder.org
HealthMap Vaccine Finder is a free, online service where users can search for locations that offer immunizations. We work with partners such as clinics, pharmacies, etc.
Per MIAA, all athlete physicals must be within 13 months of the start of the season and must remain current throughout the season. An athlete without a physical will NOT be able to participate until they are current. If you have a question about a physical, please feel free to email or call Lisa, the school nurse.
Opioid Misuse Prevention for Student Athletes AND Concussion
The law requires that information on opioid use and misuse and concussion information be read by all athletes and their parents. Once the documents are read, they must then be signed off by both parents and the athletes attesting that they were read. The reading is on the Parker home page under Athletics and then Forms. Please return the signed documents for both Opioid Misuse Prevention and Concussion to your student’s coach, Ben Benoit, or Lisa Zick. No athlete can participate until the signed documents are returned.
