Happy Friday from the Health Office!
A Reminder for Student Athletes:
There are many athletes who don't have a current physical to start the spring season. Per MIAA (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association), all athlete physicals must be within 13 months of the start of the season and must remain current throughout the season. An athlete without a physical will NOT be able to participate (including practice) until they are current. If you have a question about a physical, please feel free to email or call Lisa, the school nurse: email@example.com or 978-772-3293 x135.
Don't forget the Opioid Misuse Prevention for Student Athletes AND Concussion documents! They can be found on the Parker website under Athletics and then Forms. These forms must also be completed before a student can participate.
Save the Date for the Vaping Speaker:
The School Counseling Office and the Health Advisory Council have scheduled a speaker on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 7 PM right here at Parker. Tina Grosowky from the Central MA Tobacco Free Community Partnership will be speaking on Vaping, Juuling and other Related Tobacco Use Prevention in Youth.
Please join us and learn how the tobacco industry is targeting our kids now. Today's vape products contain nicotine and other chemicals and are not harmless. Come and see what they look like and learn how they work, where kids are getting them and what the health effects are. We'll also discuss how to talk with your teens about vaping and what we can do about this trend. Light refreshments will be served.
