ABOUT SUMMER SCHOOL CLASSES

Parker will not offer any of its own summer school classes this year.

(There will be a college essay workshop for rising seniors; if you are the parent of a rising senior, please look for more information from Missy Rizkalla about this opportunity.)

If your student is interested in formal school experiences this summer, for enrichment or for remediation, there are many area programs that we suggest you investigate:

  • Acton-Boxborough runs an extensive summer school program; check out their website for more information.

  • Your local district school may also offer summer classes.

  • Most local colleges (including WPI and Mount Wachusett) have courses that are open to or specifically for high school students.

You may also want to investigate online opportunities; for instance, VHS (Virtual High School; govhs.org) is one program we have worked with that has a number of classes that may interest students, either to “brush up” on content or to challenge themselves with new material.

If you are aware of other strong summer programs that you think the school should know about, please feel free to email suggestions to Deb Merriam: deb@theparkerschool.org.
