Community Connection Reflection

Parker Families:

Terrific turnout for Community Connections on Wednesday evening as parents, alums, staff, and community members interacted with individual seniors about their project ideas. Seniors were able, through these conversations and notes and sharing, to gain access to resources, networks, and next questions offered by the attendees. Thanks to all who participated and helped the Class of 2018 continue to build momentum in the early stages of their projects!

You never know how far the momentum of a senior project will take a student. On my way back to school Wednesday evening, I had a conversation with a Parker graduate, now a local entrepreneur, who told me the story of his senior project: My project was about e-commerce and I used my family’s business as the case study. I basically set the programs--EBay and other platforms—for our family business and the year of my senior project we logged maybe $10,000 in sales. Eight years later we’re doing over two million annually in that part of the business.

Even if you missed Community Connections night you can still connect! Here’s the list of project topics and instructions about how to share your ideas and suggestions with members of the class.
