We give blood. Will you?
American Red Cross Blood Drive at Parker
Wednesday, November 14th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Wednesday, November 14th, Debbie’s advisory will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive here at Parker. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood, which means that more than 44,000 blood donations are needed every day. The American Red Cross collects 40% of those donations. Each pint donated can save up to three lives.
Donating blood is a safe process that takes about an hour in total, although the actual blood donation takes 10-12 minutes. Not only will you be doing something good, but you’ll also get cookies to eat and juice to drink when you are done.
To be eligible to donate on your own, you must:
- be at least 17 years old
- if you are 16, you may donate with a signed parental consent form
- be healthy
- have a high enough iron count
- be at least 110 pounds
We count on Parker parents to come in and donate to help reach our goal of 40 units. If we reach our goal, we earn one of our Seniors a $250 college scholarship. For more information or to sign up for an appointment to donate, please email Debbie Osofsky at firstname.lastname@example.org.
