Dear Parents and Guardians;

The new lunch system prevents student accounts from accumulating a negative balance beyond a certain point. Inserted below is an excerpt from the FAQ on our website. Our system will generate letters to the parent/guardian email address on file for each child with a low balance. If you receive a notice, we request these balances be funded as soon as possible so as to avoid any issues in the service line.

There is a link on the school’s website or you can go to PayForIt to add money to your child’s account. Once on the payforit website, you can even set-up auto replenishment of the account. There is additional information about the program below.

REMEMBER: The system will not allow additional negative purchases to occur beyond a certain amount. Your child will be asked to come into the kitchen after service to be provided with a sandwich and fruit/vegetables until their account is funded. This is awkward for the child and staff, so please help by being sure to fund the accounts regularly. Please understand that this is a federally funded program with regulations to which we need to adhere. As an FYI, lunch is  $4.00 and breakfast is $2.00 so that you can plan accordingly when funding the accounts. Please let me know if you have questions.

FROM THE FAQ:
UPDATED: What if I forget to add money to my child’s nutrition account and the balance is too low to pay for a breakfast or lunch? The system will allow account to go slightly negative for just these types of situations. It is expected that the account be funded as soon as possible. Parker will no longer be allowing negative balances that have been in the range of $50-100 to the program as it violates best practice. Please be aware that if the balance on your child’s account becomes excessively low (below $12), you will get an immediate phone call from the school. We do not want to embarrass the children, but we NEED accounts funded in a timely manner. As always, please reach out to the Business Office or Parker’s website for the Free and Reduced lunch application at any point during the school year

Thanks and have a great day!
