This week’s Community Connection is brought to you by Danielle Dulchinos—a Parker alumni of the Class of 2013. Danielle currently lives and works in New York City in Professional Theatrical Wardrobing. In her role as a Dresser/Stitcher, she has worked for many Off-Broadway shows and for the Metropolitan Opera. In this video she talks about what the technical side of theater looks like and the two main aspects of her job—costume integrity and taking care of the shows’ performers. Stay tuned until the end of the video to learn how to do an invisible hem stitch. Danielle is an Elon University graduate with a double major in Media Arts and Entertainment Communications and Theater Studies.
Senior Project Spotlight
This week we are spotlighting some senior projects from Henry’s Senior Seminar.
EQ: What does it take to make a functioning pair of downhill skis?
In order to pursue his lifelong joy of skiing, Tommy set out to design and create his own pair of downhill skis he could use on a trip to Switzerland. Tommy worked with a mentor and learned the ins and outs of constructing his own pair of skis. Unfortunately, the trip to Switzerland is on hold (for now) but the project turned out great!
EQ: How can I better my skills as a calligrapher?
Handwriting is an Art! No one knows that better than Mollie after her yearlong exploration into the art of hand lettering. In her work, Mollie took a class and focused her work on brush letting, italic letting and gothic lettering. Her project culminated in a look book showcasing here improvement over time and reflections on her skills.
This past Sunday, all our seniors received a “sign of encouragement” in their yard. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this possible!

Parker’s Social Media Content
Over the past few weeks, we have been using social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) to highlight our faculty as they shine in their Home Learning spaces and our alumni who are currently on the front lines of this pandemic. We are including some of these posts here to be enjoyed by a broader community audience.
