Community Connections Week 12
- ECO Thanks
- New Self-Directed Learning Resources
This week’s Community Connection is brought to you by Ciara McMahon—a Parker alumni of the Class of 2013. Ciara graduated from Eastern Nazarene College with a degree in Criminal Justice and went on to University College Cork for her Masters in Sociology. In this video, she talks about a transformative moment she had while at ENC that ignited her passion for studying issues around systemic racism. Click here for a list of resources on systemic racism suggested by Ciara.
Gateways are Underway!
This week began what we call “Gateway Days.” Just like if we were in session for a “normal” June, this week of school and most of next week will be dedicated to students presenting their Gateways to audiences of peers, teachers, and family members. Just like if we were at school, students have the opportunity to attend Gateways of fellow students who have either specifically invited them or of students who have opened their presentations to a wider audience. Shown below are screenshots from a student’s Gateway presentation via Teams yesterday. Congratulations to all the students presenting Gateways this semester!
Thank You from ECO
Parker’s Essential Community Organization would like to take this opportunity to thank all the families who participated in this year's Teacher & Staff Appreciation and helped our faculty feel the love all year long! The faculty truly appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness. The purpose of ECO is to build community among all school constituents; to provide parents with an avenue to pursue volunteer opportunities; and to fund-raise for the benefit of the school, its teachers, and students. If you have any questions or suggestions, please email ECO at email@example.com. ECO wishes everyone a wonderful summer!
