Family Information for February 26th

Family Information for February 26th
Thank you!

Thanks to families for completing the survey about return-to-campus intentions for your student(s)!  At this point, approximately 80% of our students plan to participate in our start up with on-campus days.  There were lots of good questions about what on-campus classes would look like, what the school hours would be, what the rules about lunch are, how pooled testing works, and more!  We have tried to answer as many questions as we can in a Hybrid FAQs page that is now live on the school website.  Please take a look at that page to see answers to these questions (and many more).  We will keep adding to this FAQ page, but the information that is there now will answer about 90% of the questions that have been posed so far.

In addition to the FAQs, you will soon receive an email from Lisa Zick (school nurse) with more detailed information about the pooled testing, as well as a VERY IMPORTANT to-do for you as parent/guardian.  In order to participate in the pooled testing (which we strongly recommend that students do!), a parent/guardian has to complete TWO consent forms for each Parker student.  Lisa’s email contains all the information you need to do this, and we are asking you to be sure to read that email and complete these linked forms as soon as possible!

Our return to campus starts next week, with Division Three coming on Thursday, March 4.  Then, Division One will come on Monday, March 8, followed by Division Two on Tuesday, March 9.  We hope the FAQs provide you with the additional information you seek to be ready for these days.  More information will be shared directly with students in the week ahead as well.

Finally, if you have not yet booked your PLP conference for March 11/12, please see the first bullet item below for more info on how to do this.

Have a great weekend!

Tracking COVID-19 Numbers at Parker

Positive COVID-19 cases in the Parker community are reported to the Department of Secondary and Elementary Education (DESE), but if the individual has not been on campus, he/she poses no risk to anyone on campus and the data point gets screened out. We will now include weekly numbers of positive COVID-19 cases in this Family Information email. The following are positive cases in the Parker community from 2/20/21-2/26/21:

  • Staff – 0
  • Students – 0

None of the above have been on campus.  If there is a positive case on campus, all close contacts will be contacted immediately by Lisa Zick, School Nurse.

DESE Reporting Website: Once at the site: click on the Excel box for a particular week, click on the District tab at the bottom of the page, and search for Organization Code #04780000 (Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School). The reported cases include students or staff who have been on campus within seven (7) days prior to the report of the positive case. If you have questions, please feel free to email Lisa Zick at
