Tampa Catholic High School

Parker Community,

I write with an update on the search process we are undertaking to identify and select the next school leader for Parker, who will begin serving in July 2022.

Earlier this week the Board of Trustees appointed a Search Committee that is broadly representative of the school community and drawn from all key constituencies of the school: the committee of nine members includes one current student, one graduate, three faculty, two parents, and two trustees. Academic Dean Deb Merriam will co-chair the committee with trustee Vice Chair Glenn Penna, P`15, P’16, P’18.

During the first stage of the search process—defining the leadership opportunity—we plan extensive outreach to the Parker community as we strive to articulate the important values, qualities, and capacities we seek in our next school leader. We hope you will participate in these conversations this fall.

The second phase of the search process—candidate identification and outreach—will be based on the Search Committee’s work in the first phase and draw on the expertise of an executive search firm engaged by the Board to support the Search Committee.

In the third phase of the search process—interviews and recommendations—the Search Committee will conduct interviews with a group of possible finalists as they work toward a short list of top candidates. The finalists will go through another round of interviews, vetting, and community engagement as the Search Committee prepares to make recommendations to the Board of Trustees for the next school leader at Parker.

To support the Search Committee’s work, we have engaged Educators’ Collaborative, a highly regarded executive search firm in secondary school and charter public school leadership.

Having received the Search Committee’s recommendations, the Board of Trustees will make the final decision, as called for in Parker’s by-laws.

In the coming days, you will hear directly from the Search Committee and Educators’ Collaborative about how you can participate in each stage of the search process, which begins now in earnest with a strong team in place. We are grateful for the level of engagement, care, and support evident in our community as we step into this important work together.

Sincerely,

Christine Regan-Davi, P’18, Chair

Parker Board of Trustees
